The Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais: a major economic force through the work of close 500 members

The real estate market is a major economic driver in the Outaouais. It is an industry that generates close to a billion dollars through some 4,000 real estate transactions in 2012.

MLS® statistics show that the resale market is booming. If one compares the 2002 mid-price for a single-family dwelling with today's, which is $230,000, we have an increase of almost $120,000. This is a clear indication that an investment in real estate offers the consumer a good return.

Did you know that real estate brokerage contributes significantly to the region's economic vigour? Every property transaction undertaken in the Outaouais and registered with the MLS® system represents benefits of $34,5251 in terms of the purchasing of goods and services and that stimulates the economy. The spending includes the purchasing of various articles for the home, furniture and appliances, moving costs, renovations, professional fees including legal and real estate fees, as well as assessors and inspectors' fees and those of land surveyors, duties and taxes paid to governments and municipalities, etc. in the years following the purchase of a property.

To achieve the best transaction possible and the most secure, whether buying or selling, use the services of a real estate broker who is a member of the Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais because he has in hand the most powerful sales tool: the MLS® System.
