Our story, shortened IMG_3562.jpeg

In September 1962, a provisional committee was formed, leading to the founding of the Board on January 16, 1963.

The founders—local businesspeople working in insurance firms who shared a common interest in real estate—laid the groundwork for our Real Estate Board; the idea of bringing together the region’s “real estate” brokers into an association had taken root.

This unifying force is a major asset for our association and generates a significant economic impact in the community. Being at the heart of the real estate industry in the Outaouais region remains our vision to this day.

July 10, 1964: Incorporation of “La Chambre d’immeuble de Hull inc. – Hull Real Estate Board inc.” The Hull Real Estate Board Inc. had 58 members, 25 of whom were active.

IMG_3564.jpegIts objectives are as described in the Letters Patent in Libro 1229, folio 135, namely:

To bring together in an association those persons who are engaged, directly or indirectly and in any way or manner whatsoever, in the real estate business or in real estate transactions, with the aim of studying, promoting, representing, developing, and protecting the economic, social, and professional interests of its members, both individually and collectively, and exerting a beneficial influence on all matters directly or indirectly related to the real estate business in general.

September 30, 1978: change of corporate name to “Chambre d’immeuble de l’Outaouais inc.” This name was more representative of the Board’s regional reality.

In 1988, with a view to ensuring the proper use of the French language, the Chambre d’immeuble de l’Outaouais adopted the name “Chambre immobilière de l’Outaouais inc.” and has been known by that name ever since.IMG_3568.jpeg
