Cayamant is one of the MRC communities created in the early |
20th century to welcome the flood of French Canadians |
heading west in search of farmland. Aside from the lake |
itself, Lac-Cayamant's main attractions revolve around |
outdoor activities, with the presence of the Nid de |
l'Aigle, Cayamant and Forêt de l'Aigle mountains. In 1993, |
the commune unveiled its armories, which represents the |
different stages of its development. |
The year of foundation is shown, as well as the municipal |
complex and the church of Saint-Roch. The fishing rod and |
rifle illustrate hunting and fishing from the beginning of |
colonization to the present day. The trees represent the |
natural wealth of the commune, the forest. |
The eagle represents the Rivière de l'Aigle, the source of |
the colonization of Cayamant. Finally, the slogan of the |
commune is presented: "Cayamant, where life is good". |
